Riddle Question #4

with 19 comments

Good gravy, ya take a few days off and all of a sudden you lose track of the time-space millennium. I can’t believe I blew yesterday’s riddle. A thousand apologies…

No more wasting, here’s today’s

Riddle Me Rooster!

There were two roosters in front of a rooster

and two roosters behind a rooster

and one rooster in the middle.

How many roosters are there?

  2. Try saying that ‘seven’ times. But isn’t this some sort of rooster initiation where the other roosters kick the shit out of the rooster in the middle??

    • fundamentaljelly, you are right. You can not put roosters together because they will kill each other, (aka the cockfight). This was all a trick question.

      • thats a trick answer because you won’t tell us the real answer until Monday

        • Claire Collins, trick questions, trick answers, it’s all just a big trick. You can’t trust roosters, they’re the trickiest of birds.

  3. Holy Shiite and Shuni, you’ve got the space time millennium/continuum all fucked up now! Now you’ve got “I’m tired of your Language” stuck in 1977 with Jack, Kate, and Hurley! That asshole Ben probably left a comment as an 11 year old boy.

Unless it’s a trick question, I gotta say 5. If it’s a trick question then there can only be one Ramblin’ Rooster

    • Scott Oglesby, would I dare throw out a trick question? Ben said hello, but you won’t find out about it for twenty years.

  4. I’m going with 3.

It does sound like an initiation. Or perhaps the queue for the opening night of “Chicken Run,” which will disappoint most discerning Roosters with its lack of chickens in lewd positions and the godawful voice acting of Mel Gibson.

    • Capitalist Lion Tamer, “Two days ago I saw a trunk that could haul that tanker. You wanna get outta here… you talk to me.” That’s my Mel impression from Road Warrior. You didn’t say if this riddle was more friendly or pleasing.

      • It’s actually a little of both.

It sort of reminds me of the St. Ives riddle, in which the answer seems obvious, but it appears to be some sort of voodoo by the time everything is sorted out.

But I like logic. I’m still sticking with three, despite my past failures. Alan’s guess is tempting…

        Nope. Three, it is.

You do a good Mel (which sounds like a left-handed porn compliment). Here’s mine:

*stumble* “slurrrfrakkinjewsssssrrrr” *fall over and cut head on general population metal bench*

        • Capitalist Lion Tamer, what can I say I’m a little bit St. Ives, I’m a little bit voodoo. You can’t tell, but I’m applauding your Mel.

  5. There could have been hundreds of roosters since the riddle doesn’t say there were ONLY two in front or ONLY two in the back.

    Do roosters travel in packs?
And are they in a line?
    What if they’re in a circle? Or a triangle…
What if they’re stacked up in a frying pan?

    • Claire Collins, spoken like a true returning champion.
Do roosters travel in packs? NO
And are they in a line? YES
      What if they’re in a circle? Or a triangle… THEY’RE NOT
What if they’re stacked up in a frying pan? THEN HURRY UP THE TATERS ARE GETTING COLD

      • I love taters.

So I assume roosters have breasts? Roosters are males, and hens are females, but chicken is just chicken?

So, how are your thighs? Nice and tender?

Okay, if they are in a straight line, then I’m agreeing with CLT on this one. Three.

  6. Too easy. There are 1,947,411,745,098,666 roosters.

    What do I win?

    • alantru, I can’t tell you. You’ll just have to tune in to Monday’s blog for the answer. However, I will say I admire the vibrato.
